Located in the Financial district inside the beautiful Le Meriden hotel, Bar 333 is a beautiful restaurant serving great American cuisine entrees, bar food, and cocktails. When I walked into the restaurant, it wasn’t busy at all, and Veronica (my server) was very polite, friendly, and was ready to take care of me. The interior is very mid-century modern and I liked how the interior design is the same within the hotel as well. The theme keeps going throughout the entire hotel itself And I like how they kept it consistent. The food came out nicely and I have to say the food tasted very well as well. I loved the vibe at the restaurant and the food corresponds to the theme of the restaurant as well. I ordered their french onion soup, margarita flatbread, spring rolls, and white cheddar mac and cheese. All of these items were definitely delicious!

I will review the French onion soup first. The last time I had french was in Las Vegas, NV over a decade ago! I remembered that was the first time I had french onion soup and I remembered I didn’t like it but I forgot why. It was probably because of my taste buds back then, it wasn’t familiar with the taste of french onion soup. Anyhow, the french soup I had here was absolutely delicious. The soup was nice and cheesy, rich, and heartwarming. The caramelized onions gave the soup a sweet note and it does a nice job countering the heavy savory parts of the soup. The soup is nice and loose and I liked how the baguette soaked up the broth of the soup. This has to be my favorite french onion soup.

The margarita flatbread was definitely a great one! Just a basic flatbread with basil on top which was my favorite part of the flatbread. It made it so earthy and herbs are always my favorite part and topping on any flatbread or pizza. The dough was thin and not thick and the toppings seem basic, but I would rather keep it simple than overcomplicate the dish. I would recommend this flatbread if you are stumped on what to get. The spring rolls were absolutely a hit as well. The filling to wrapper ratio was just right and that sweet and sour dipping sauce was on point. Always dip your spring rolls/egg rolls in a sweet chili sauce because the savory and sweet combination always is a great flavor combination. I think one thing they can change on the spring rolls is the fact it was a little too oily, but I think it’s my personal opinion it was slightly greasy but the flavor wasn’t all grease I will say that. Overall, a delicious roll of spring rolls to get your dinner started!

Who remembers mac and cheese as a child? This mac and cheese is the sophisticated version of your ordinary mac and cheese. I feel like this mac and cheese is more poised because it’s not as heavy but you still get that delicate cheese flavor you want and need. The noodle texture was perfect and I did love how the mac and cheese still kept the cheese flavor with balancing out the other flavors. There were also shavings of black truffle as well but I wish they out either more shavings or bigger chunks of black truffle in the mac and cheese. I didn’t really taste the truffle flavor and I was looking for it when I was eating it. Overall, a great plate of mac and cheese, and I really liked it.

Overall, the food at Bar 333 was delicious, tasty, and awesome! I really enjoyed dining at Bar 333 and hope to come back. Thank you to my server Veronica for a wonderful evening and thank you to the chef who prepared all of the wonderful food! Follow @the.flexitarian.aholic for more delicious eats!
